Summer of Self Love is a 13-week journey of mindful self-care, inspired by the heart of the 1960s Summer of Love. Each week offers a new theme to support your nervous system and nourish your spirit through daily practices, guided meditations, journal prompts, poetry, and more. Reconnect with yourself, one breath and one act of love at a time.
Come take a seat, just as you are—
By window light or beneath a star.
On porch or pillow, grass or chair,
Wherever you land, you’re welcome there.
Let shoulders soften, jaw unclench,
Let thoughts drift off like winds that wrench
The leaves from trees in autumn’s grace—
Let stillness gently take their place.
Now notice sounds both far and near—
A songbird’s note, the hush you hear.
A breeze may kiss your waiting skin,
Or sunlight warm you from within.
Imagine Earth beneath your toes—
A wise old friend who always knows
How to hold you, just like this,
With quiet strength and grounded bliss.
And now a breeze, so wild and kind,
That’s brushed the cliffs and danced through pines,
Arrives to fill your lungs with care—
A whispered gift from open air.
I belong to all I see.
And all of it belongs to me.
The earth below, the sky above,
They hold you close, they pulse with love.
You’re made of moss and flame and sea,
Of ancient dust and mystery.
You are not lost, nor cast aside—
You are a piece of Earth’s great tide.
Not separate from the stream of grace,
But woven into time and place.
The fire in you? A sunrise bold.
The water? Stories never told.
The breath? A cloud that learned to sing.
The bones? A gift from stone and wing.
So let your spirit settle in—
Let wonder rise from deep within.
Feel roots unfurl beneath your seat,
A rhythm slow, a silence sweet.
Then when you’re ready, blink your eyes,
Return beneath the waking skies.
But carry with you what you’ve known:
You are the Earth. You are homegrown.
You are not on this Earth alone—
You are this Earth. You are at home.
When do I feel most connected to the natural world—and what does that connection do for my spirit?
What elements of nature do I feel most drawn to—earth, water, fire, air, space—and why?
How might I bring more of nature into my daily rhythms, even in small, quiet ways?
